Glamorous, cultured and exotic, Flavien is a fascinating worldly mix of French, Iranian and Algerian. Bubbling with enthusiasm and creativity, hugely focused and energetic; his irresistible charm and legendary skill have achieved a faithful following amongst a wealthy and celebrated clientele.

Flavien’s career started at 15 when he began to work at a leading hair salon in Nice on the Cote d’Azur. By the age of 17, he had settled  in London and was a stylist at Naïm of Beauchamp Place, a Knightsbridge salon with a largely Arab and Levantine clientele.

The following year he moved to premier salon, Michaeljohn in Mayfair’s Albemarle St. For four years, Flavien worked extensively  with Michaeljohn’s private clients such as movie celebrities who did not come to the salon; he was also kept busy with glossy  magazine photo shoots for titles such as Vogue, Tatler, Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping  and OK, covering the full spectrum of fashion,  beauty and celebrity features.

Additionally, Flavien had contracts with  Sony and Virgin to take care of their music  stars’ hair; these included Charlotte Church  and Shania Twain.

In 2000, and still only 21, Flavien returned  to the country of his birth, and joined the Lucie Saint-Clair group in Paris. There, he was both their youngest ever Artistic Director, and a  Company Director – the youngest in France.

At Lucie Saint-Clair, he created new cuts and shapes for couture and pret a porter  designers including Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Lacroix and worked on their fashion shows, showcasing to the full all his creative  and session styling skills.

Over the next four years, Flavien was the main hairdresser for French stars at the major film festivals – Cannes, Venice, Yokohama, Acapulco etc. – and here he honed his growing  reputation for achieving the best-looking hair for a bevy of glamorous movie stars.

Famous names he enjoyed working with during this period included Andy MacDowell, leading French actress Nathalie Baye, Audrey Tautou, Geraldine Chaplin, Marion Cotillard,  Catherine Deneuve, Charlotte Rampling,  Martine McCutcheon and Kimberley Kartel.

In 2004, Flavien returned to London to  work behind the chair as Senior Artistic Director at Harrods’ Urban Retreat, and  many of his clients followed him to his new  base there.

Today, his Harrods client list reads like a Who’s Who of society, entertainment and the media. It includes princesses from far and near, instantly recognisable faces from the  large and small screen and many music  industry divas.

Flavien’s renowned discretion means that  unless you recognise the person sitting in his  chair, he will not tell you who it is, merely  saying he has lots of glittering show business  personalities, fashion and beauty editors, and affluent people of influence from the worlds  of diplomacy and business.

At 32, Flavien is now embarking on a new phase in his career with the launch of Touché by Flavien. This range of six superb scalp  and hair products of the finest quality is unique in the way it combines natural ingredients, including the rare and costly prickly pear oil, and by approaching hair care by scalp type rather than hair type. The range debuts in Urban Retreat outlets in June 2012.
